Civil defence volunteers honoured

ALLAHABAD: Civil defence workers
are working tirelessly in the
service of people, asserted district
magistrate Raj Shekhar while
honouring wardens and volunteers
affiliated with the organization at a
progranmme organized at Park
Road on Friday.
The DM said that Civil Defence has
presented an example of selfless
service during pressing times like
natural calamites and riots. He said
home guards are playing a vital
role in maintaining law and order
in the city.
During the programme, the DM
gave certificates to many wardens
and volunteers of Civil Defence
Core. The best male warden award
was conferred on Mahendra Saxena
while the award for best female
warden was won by Rajni Singh.
Both the winners were given a
shawl, certificate and trophy for
their exceptional performance.
