Civil Defence Day and conclusion of training for 195{+t}{+h}batch of civil defence basic training was held on Friday. Deputy Civil Defence Controller S. Satyanarayana, who presided over the valedictory meeting, wanted the volunteers to be ready to help rescue citizens when calamities occur and provide them first aid. Training was being imparted by organisations in Hyderabad and Bangalore. In the city, Jana Sikshana Samsthan was providing the training, Mr. Satyanarayana said adding those who got the training should be ready to take up work as volunteers when required. Volunteers who received training in the 195{+t}{+h}batch in warden service, first aid, rescue, fire-fighting demonstrated their skills by rescue operation, evacuation from high-rise buildings, rescuing people from under debris, rendering first aid and using police wireless communication sets. Sixty-three volunteers received training in the batch. Retired DM&HO P. Rama Rao and retired Fire Officer Demullu participated. At DRM’s office The 41{+s}{+t}Civil Defence Flag Raising Day was celebrated at the Divisional Railway Manager’s Office Complex. DRM Anil Kumar, Additional DRM Madanlal Meena and other branch officials were among those present on the occasion. Tunnel disaster management, rescue operations for persons trapped in tunnels, fire fighting and Cardio Pulmonary Respiration (CPR) demonstration were performed as part of the mock drill organised the guidance of Divisional Safety Officer F.
