Civil defence trainees against removal of dept from Dinhata 20 Dec 2013

The civil defence personnel trained at the Civil Defence office in Dinhata today agitated against the attempts made in moving the office from the area. The officials led by the leaders of ‘Dinhata Nagarik Mancha’ gathered outside the Dinhata BDO office and sat on a dharna today. The protest continued from 10 am to 5 pm during which Dinhata Nagarik Mancha President Jaigopal Bhowmik, Poet Shyamal Chowdhury, Singers Apurba Adhikary, Hirok Sarkar and others addressed their opinions. A team of representatives trained in civil defence from the office, including Umashankar Sarkar, Amit Guha Majumdar, Krishna Saha, Suman Ghosh and others personally met the BDO and handed him a deputation in this regard.
