TWENTY NDRF PERSONNEL AWARDED PRIME MINISTER’S POLICE MEDAL FOR LIFE SAVING

PRESS-NOTE TWENTY NDRF PERSONNEL AWARDED PRIME MINISTER’S POLICE MEDAL FOR LIFE SAVING Dated 06th March, 2014 Time 1300 hrs The Nation faced numerous natural disasters in 2013 such as cloud burst in Uttarakhand, floods in Assam, cyclonic storms Phailin in AP & Odisha. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel did commendable job in saving lives of a large number of people across the country. NDRF men carried rescue work in adverse conditions without caring for their own life to uphold its motto “AAPDA SEVA SADAIV”. NDRF rescue efforts were appreciated by all sections of society. As a result of this self-less service, twenty personnel of NDRF have been awarded with Prime Minister’s Police Medal for Life Saving. Award of this prestigious Medal to so many personnel of one organisation is unpredicted. This has further strengthen our resolve to serve our countrymen with great zeal.
