Bengaluru: N.S Megharikh has been transferred with immediate effect as the Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) on Friday. The chief minister Siddaramaiah has decided to give him the responsibility of Law and Order of the state.
NS Megharikh, a Rajastan native, has various merits on his side and he was the SP of Mangalore in 1997. The government made his choice as the coastal Karnataka and other regions are facing an increase in the number of communal incidents, and Megharik knows the pulse of the communally sensitive areas of Karnataka.
At the same time, the present ADGP (Law &Order) HC Kishor Chandra has been promoted as Director General of Police and posted as Director General of Police & Commandant General, Home Guards and Ex-officio Director, Civil Defence & Director, Fire Force, Bengaluru in the existing vacancy.
Neelamani N. Raju, IPS, Additional Director, Intelligence Bureau, Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi is promoted to the grade of Director General of Police with immediate effect with reference to her immediate junior HC Kishore Chandra.
Padam Kumar Garg, IPS Padam Kumar Garg, Additional Director General of Police, Economic Offences, Criminal Investigation Department, Bengaluru (CID) is transferred as Additional Director General of Police, Crimes and Technical Services, Bengaluru.
